we should
think a second of the world that we lost
burning
from the core that we could never exhaust
and all the
angry children thinking what could have been
and the
dirty hippies trying to start again
before we
starting fighting for the rights to the sky
and the
blisters for the whispers trying to work out a lie
now we
send out the children with a smile and a gun
and we can
say that utopia was never so fun
but you can't just
run back home
you can't
resell your soul
do you still feel the itch where you once wore your brand
without the symbol of your status are you sure you're a man?
are you longing for the whispers of the woman on screen
have you got your children praying to the money machine?
take a moment naming alibies
and you can
tell they hate you by the love in their eyes
and they will
sit back and listen while your tale unfolds
and then they
giggle later at the lies that you told
and you can
sneak away just when the moment is right
and you will
make your escape though it's hard to describe
the way to
climb the tunnels to the spot that's the sun
and we can
say that utopia was never so fun
